It was all Vegas from start to finish on Monday night.  The Golden Knights dominated the Panthers to the tune of 7-2 in Game 2 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final.  Vegas forward Jonathan Marche sault stayed red hot, tallying two goals in the game, including the opening goal for the club. Brett Howden added two goals as well, with Alec Martinez, Nicolas Roy and Michael Amadio also finding the back of the net.  MORE:  Adin Hill continued his strong play in the Vegas net, stopping 28 of 30 shots. The Golden Knights improved to 8-3 at home during the 2023 playoffs, and take a 2-0 series lead into Game 3.  The Golden Knights jumped all over the Panthers early, scoring four goals in the first two periods and chasing Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky in the second period. Florida failed to find the back of the net until the final frame, when it was too little, too late.  The officials had their hands full in this one, handing out over 100 penalty minutes in the game, including 11 misconducts.  Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday, June 8. The Golden Knights have all the momentum as the series shifts to South Florida, where the Panthers are hoping to have better luck on home ice.  The Sporting News provided updates and highlights from Game 2 of the Golden Knights vs. Panthers Stanley Cup Final.  MORE:  Panthers vs. Golden Knights Game 2 score  1  2  3  F  Panthers  0  0  2  2  Golden Knights  2  2  3  7  Panthers vs. Golden Knights Game 2live updates, highlights from 2023 Stanley Cup Final  Final: Golden Knights 7, Panthers 2  11:03 p.m.:  Vegas cruises to a dominant win in Game 2 over Florida and take a commanding 2-0 series lead. The Golden Knights were the better team from start to finish, chasing Bobrovsky early in the second and didn't look back. Another strong showing from Hill, and yet another multi-goal performance from Marche sault.  11:01 p.m.:  Now Montour and Reilly Smith get the boot with seven seconds left. A total of nine misconducts handed out in this period. Marche sault also is handed a minor for cro s-checking.  10:58 p.m.:  Add Nick Cousins and Zach Whitecloud to the list of players handed a 10-minute misconduct. That's now five for Florida, two for Vegas tonight.  10:56 p.m.: GOAL!  Howden gets his second of the night for Vegas, this time on the power play. Howden's shot hits Mahura and goes in between the legs of Lyon with 2:07 left.  Golden Knights 7, Panthers 2.  Brett Howden zips Amadio's touch pa s past Lyon for his second goal of the night, 7-2 Vegas! |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  10:52 p.m.:  Eric Staal also got a 10-minute misconduct for abuse of officials. There's hardly anyone left on the Florida bench.  10:52 p.m.:  Duclair takes exemption to a reverse hit from Barbashev and is called for cro s-checking. He also is handed a 10-minute misconduct. A power play is upcoming for Vegas with 3:32 left.  Another big reverse hit from Ivan Barbashev, this time on Anthony Duclair |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  10:51 p.m.:  We have more misconducts handed out. Casey Fitzgerald and Kolesar each are handed 10-minute misconducts, so they'll hit the showers early.  10:47 p.m.:  Well, Tkachuk's night is done. After the no-goal, he received another  Adrian Kempe Jersey 10-minute misconduct and with le s than six minutes to go, he heads down the tunnel to the locker room. That's his second of the night and third of the series. It has not been a good Stanley Cup Final for him so far.  10:46 p.m.:  Tkachuk nearly had another one, but Shea Theodore swiped the puck away from the goal line. Tkachuk banked a shot from behind the net off Hill and it was rolling acro s the goal line before Theodore stooped it.  Shea Theodore just saved a goal with a terrific heads-up play in the crease |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  10:43 p.m.: GOAL!  Tkachuk gets the Panthers' second goal of the period with 7:14 left. The shot from Sam Bennett was blockered away from hill, but it went right to a cutting Tkachuk for the rebound tally.  Golden Knights 6, Panthers 2.  Matthew Tkachuk buries the juicy rebound for Florida's second goal of the night! |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  10:38 p.m.: GOAL!  This one goes in for Amadio. He finishes off an odd-man rush with Karl son, tapping in a backdoor attempt into the wide open net. That was some pretty poor defensive work by the Panthers, yet again. It's a five-goal lead now for Florida with 9:27 left.  Golden Knights 6, Panthers 1.  Michael Amadio finishes off William Karl son's terrific setup for another Vegas goal! |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  10:34 p.m.:  Michael Amadio nearly made it 6-1, but his shot attempt with Lyon out of position hit the post, went through the crease and stayed out.  10:31 p.m.:  Vegas isn't taking its foot off the gas pedal. The Golden Knights just keep pushing offensively, even up four with 12:40 to go.  10:28 p.m.:  Back to 5 on 5 as the Verhaeghe penalty expires. Lyon made a nice pad save in the dying seconds on a Martinez shot that was deflected by William Karl son.  10:25 p.m.:  Verhaeghe cro s-checks Pietrangelo in the back of the head, so the Golden Knights head to another  Austin Wagner Jersey power play.  10:23 p.m.:  GOAL!  Vegas answers right back with another goal by Marche sault. Eichel does an excellent job on the forecheck in his first shift back, eventually finding a wide open Marche sault in the slot and he beats Lyon all alone from the slot from his second of the night. It's back to a four-goal game 2:10 into the third.  Golden Knights 5, Panthers 1.  Jack Eichel IS BACK   What a beautiful feed to Marche sault   B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  10:20 p.m.:  GOAL!  Florida finally gets one through 14 seconds into the frame. A shot by Anton Lundell goes off of Martinez and into the open Vegas net. That's a lucky bounce for the Panthers, who desperately needed one.  Golden Knights 4, Panthers 1.  The Panthers score fast, down by three now    B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  10:20 p.m.:  The third period is a go, and Eichel is back on the bench for Vegas.  End of the second period: Golden Knights 4, Panthers 0  10 p.m.:  Vegas dominates the second period and chases Bobrovsky out of the game, as the club holds a 4-0 lead. Florida is going to continue to play physical and try and draw penalties out of the Golden Knights, so Vegas must stay disciplined in the final frame. The biggest concern is the health of Eichel, who left late in the frame after the Tkachuk hit.  9:56 p.m.:  A minor and 10-minute misconduct handed out to both Tkachuk and Barbashev, and roughing minors given to Pietrangelo and Gustav Forsling. It doesn't look like Tkachuk was penalized for the hit.  9:53 p.m.:  Oh no, Tkachuk lands a huge hit on Eichel that he never saw and the Vegas forward is shaken up. Eichel heads right to the bench and a huge melee breaks out. It looks like Eichel toe-picked as he tried avoiding the hit, and Tkachuk got him a bit higher than expected.  Matthew Tkachuk just lit up Jack Eichel, ma sive hit |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  A few more looks at Tkachuk's hit on Eichel |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  9:46 p.m.:  Florida is now 0-for-3 on the power play tonight. The Montour shot was the lone good look of the PP.  9:43 p.m.:  Adin freaking Hill. He stones Montour with the glove on a point-blank shot from the shot. He's locked in.  Adin Hill is locked in tonight, huge glove stop |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  9:41 p.m.:  William Carrier is whistled for roughing Marc Staal, so the Panthers head back to the power play with 7:25 to go in the frame. The power play looked good on the first two attempts, but it has nothing to show for so far.  9:40 p.m.:  Nothing doing for the Panthers on the power play. Hill has been unbreakable tonight, as he's up to 20 saves so far in the contest.  9:35 p.m.:  Just as Barbashev and White return, Alex Pietrangelo is called for interference, so Florida heads its second power play at about the halfway mark of the period.  9:31 p.m.:  Hill makes another strong glove save on a shot from Aleksander Barkov. A scrum ensues and both Barbashev and Colin White will sit for two minutes, one for slashing and one for roughing. It'll be 4 on 4 for a couple of minutes.  9:26 p.m.: GOAL!  The floodgates have opened in Vegas as Brett Howden makes it 4-0. The Golden Knights turn defense into offense, getting an odd man rush that results in Howden taking a pa s from Stone and beating Bobrovksy with a slick backhand. That's it for Bobrovsky, as Alex Lyon comes in with 12:50 to go in the second.  Golden Knights 4, Panthers 0.  HOWDEN WITH A SICK MOVE   IT'S 4-0 VEGAS!   B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  9:23 p.m.:  It's safe to say Bobrovsky, and the Panthers' defense, have not been as strong as they were prior to the Stanley Cup Final.  The Golden Knights have now scored more goals on Sergei Bobrovsky in 84 minutes than the Hurricanes did in the entire Eastern Conference Finals series.   Je se Granger (@Je seGranger_)  9:22 p.m.:  Gudas has been ruled out for the rest of the night, per the TNT broadcast. He was already hurt coming into tonight, and the hit from Barbashev knocked him out of the contest.  9:19 p.m.: GOAL!  Nicolas Roy makes it 3-0 Golden Knights three minutes into the second period. No one covers Roy as he comes out of the corner with the puck, and he beats Bobrovsky on the short side. It doesn't look like the Panthers goalie saw that shot; there's a chance he hasn't seen any of the three goals. Vegas with complete control of this one.  Golden Knights 3, Panthers 0.  VEGAS ADDS TO THE LEAD    B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  9:16 p.m.:  No Gudas for Florida to start the second.  9:15 p.m.:  The second period is underway.  End of the first period: Golden Knights 2, Panthers 0  8:57 p.m.:  T-Mobile Arena is rocking after the first, as the Golden Knights take a 2-0 lead into the first intermi sion. Marche sault and Martinez had the two goals for Vegas. Outside of its power play, Florida struggled to get shots on Hill, and those that did were turned aside by the goaltender, who has been stellar yet again. Shots in the frame were 11-10 in favor of the Golden Knights.  8:56 p.m.:  Right before the Martinez goal,. Tkachuk and Hill got themselves acquainted with each other  again Peter Budaj Women Jersey .  Adin Hill and Matthew Tkachuk going at it    Gino Hard (@GinoHard_)  8:54 p.m.: GOAL!  With 2:01 left in the first, Alec Martinez doubles the Vegas lead. Right after the Panthers nearly tied the game at one end, the Golden Knights extend their lead at the other. The veteran defenseman roofs it over the right shoulder of Bobrovsky from the circle.  Golden  Knights 2, Panthers 0.  2-0 AND THE BUILDING IS ROCKING    B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  8:53 p.m.:  Hill stops a Matthew Tkachuk deflection, a Montour one-timer and a Verhaghe attempt as Vegas kills off the Roy penalty. The Panthers had five shots on goal during that power play, but nothing has beaten Hill, much to the pleasure of the Golden Knights' faithful.  8:50 p.m.:  With 16 seconds left on the Montour penalty, Nicolas Roy is called for hooking, so that'll end the Vegas power play. A few seconds of 4 on 4 before Florida goes to its first man advantage of the night.  8:47 p.m.:  Brandon Montour hits Marche sault in the back of the head along the wall and he's going to sit for roughing. Vegas heads to its second power play of the period, the first one was succe sful.  8:43 p.m.:  A couple of good response shifts from the Panthers, but the Golden Knights are blocking shots left and right. Only three shots have gotten through to Hill in the first 12 minutes.  8:37 p.m.:  It's not only the second consecutive game with Marche sault scoring first for Vegas, but the second time it's come on the power play.  8:36 p.m.: GOAL!  Jonathan Marche sault stays flaming hot and gives the Golden Knights the first goal 7:05 into the contest. He rips a shot over the glove of Bobrovsky that hits the back bar and comes out. A great screen in front by Mark Stone made it difficult for Bobrovsky to see. That's Marche sault's 11th goal in the last 12 games, and second of the series.  Golden Knights 1, Panthers 0.  MARCHESSAULT WITH THE EARLY POWER PLAY GOAL    B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce)  8:33 p.m.:  The physical play has ramped up the last couple of minutes, especially on the Vegas side. Keegan Kolesar laid out Josh Mahura and then Ivan Barbashev obliterated Radko Gudas, who is hurting and heads down the Florida tunnel. Ryan Lomberg was called for high-sticking behind the play, so Vegas gets the first power play chance of the night.  Ivan Barbashev just cranked Radko Gudas with a big reverse hit at the blue line |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  Another look at Barbashev's huge reverse hit on Gudas |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  8:28 p.m.:  Carter Verhaeghe gets a breakaway for Florida about four minutes in and tries to beat Adin Hill with a backhand, but the Vegas goaltender makes the stop. He made it look a lot easier than that was, reading Verhaghe's fake to perfection.  Adin Hill shuts down Verhaeghe's early breakaway try |   Hockey Daily 365 l NHL Highlights (@HockeyDaily365)  8:24 p.m.:  Vegas' pa sing in the offensive zone is so fluid. The team constantly moves the puck from low to high, getting the defense involved, but can send it back down low and work a cycle below the goal line.  8:21 p.m.:  Game 2 is underway from T-Mobile Arena.  Pregame  8:05 p.m.:  A last-minute change in the Florida lineup, as Paul Maurice elects to go with 11 forwards and seven Dave Taylor Kids Jersey  defensemen with Radko Gudas not at 100%. Casey Fitzgerald enters the lineup while Zac Dalpe comes out.  With Gudas hurting, FLA goes 11-7. Fitzgerald in for Dalpe   Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC)  7:45 p.m.:  No lineups changes on either side for Game 2. Bobrovsky vs. Hill in the crease.  Golden Knights pregame line rushes for Game 2 of the Cup Final:  BarbashevEichelMarche sault  SmithKarl sonAmadio  HowdenStephensonStone  CarrierRoyKolesar  MartinezPietrangelo  McNabbTheodore  HagueWhitecloud  Hill  Quick   Je se Granger (@Je seGranger_)  in warmups:  Verhaeghe - Barkov - Duclair  Cousins - Bennett - Tkachuk  Lomberg - Lundell - Reinhart  White - Staal - Dalpe  Forsling - Ekblad  Staal - Montour  Mahura - Gudas  Bobrovsky  Lyon   Jameson Olive (@JamesonCoop)  7 p.m.:  Jonathan Marche sault is red hot entering Game 2. The Golden Knights forward opened the scoring for Vegas in Game 1, his 10th goal in his last 11 games.  6:35 p.m.:  Eetu Luostarinen has already been ruled out for the Game 2 contest on Monday night by Paul Maurice. The forward mi sed Game 1, as he recovers from an injury he suffered in the final game of the Eastern Conference Final.  Luostarinen is out tonight, per Maurice.   Jameson Olive (@JamesonCoop)  6:30 p.m.:  Sergei Bobrovsky hasn't lost back-to-back games yet in this postseason. He's hoping that trend continues in Game 2.
